Daylight Robbery!

I have something to vent... and my blog is the best place to do it...(thank you Blog!)

Whilst talking to my pregnant sister yesterday as she walked home from work, along a street in Dublin, I suddenly heard and scream followed by the sound of wind and movement, when I realised someone had stolen her phone.. I immediately started roaring down the phone at the culprit out of rage anger and worry..After a few more seconds the phone went dead.. With no way to see if my sister was harmed or not, thankfully she went into a shop near where the incident was, to tell us she was safe and what just had happened.. She was in shock but it was more anger than fear that consumed her. She had just been speaking to her husband pervious to this and had said that she was best to put away the phone as it could be stolen..seconds later it was.. What really irated me that in today's society you cannot walk down the street chatting to family or friends after a day at work for fear your phone may be stolen by some low life who more than likely was hanging around waiting on his next victim..Little do they know or care for that matter, what circumstance their next victim is going through..If my sister had of been knocked, or punched in the stomach this could be a very different story...A phone is replaceable.. Gone are the days when mobile phones were like 'bricks' which we now look upon them with nostalgic mockery, and are now replaced with must sought after technical devices highly desired by thieves alike!! I think its time to revet back to the bricks!!!

"Broinn" Origination!

I thought I'd tell you a little about where the name 'Broinndesign' came from.. My surname is Byrne which I found is the 7th most common name in Ireland, well certainly in Wicklow where my Dad hails from..Every other person you meet is a Byrne..I'm proud of our surname, and wanted to use it in some way, so I adapted the Irish name Ó Broin to Broinn , pronounced 'Brin' and added design, being a designer and all that.. So, the Clan's motto is a latin phrase, 'Certavi et vici' which means 'I have fought and conquered', which is something I hope to achieve on this blog..:)

Beauty that surrounds you...

We are experiencing a mini heat wave in Ireland at the minute and its glorious.. So on Sunday past myself and few cousins and their respective others decided to climb a mountain in our area called 'Leon'... The area had amazing scenery, you often look past its beauty, an area where it really shines on a sunny day.. It was once described by a college friend as 'Lord of the Rings' country!! So about 11 of us set of on our journey...bags packed with food for a BBQ and plenty of fluids to keep us hydrated.. There was alot of laughs, alot of breaks (mainly me) and alot of ooohhs and aaaahhhs at the splendid scenery that awaited us as we moved on our journey..

The above photo is from  the very top of Leon where this stone was erected..I'm still trying to find out when and by whom. We could see as far as Sligo, Mayo, Donegal and Roscommon... So after one too many sausages and burgers we made our descent which for me was alot easier than the ascent.. A day that I will remember for a long time....

First Festival of the Summer....

So this weekend coming is my first festival of the summer..Forbidden Fruit which is in it's second year from Saturday 2nd of June until Monday 4th June..Held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin, smack bang in Dublin, perfect for those who fancy a festival, minus the camping... This year we are heading on the Saturday and maybe the Sunday, all depending on the dreaded hangover which is steadily getting worse..  I always have a dilema when is comes to festival fashion..as I'm adverse to getting my tree trumps (tighs) out ..I struggle to find some cool but funky ensembles to wear...With the promise of good weather...(we nearly have a full week of sunshine in Ireland, fingers crossed it stays) I was in a dilema of some sort.. So..into my favourite affordable fashion store loved by Irish Girls alike, Penny's. I managed to pick up the outfit (top) in a record 5 mins...(I know every corner of the place) and found this maxi skirt (€9), off white T-Shirt with button detail on the back (€6), and the tan leather bag also from Penny's, (€9) which I bought for the aforementioned occasion... So all I need for Saturday is the glorious sunshine..stellar music, fun and friends which is all guaranteed..
On the off-chance, I struggle out of bed on Sunday and am physically able for Round 2 and more importantly NEW ORDER...I picked up this black sheer sleeveless blouse with gold buttons and a turquoise and gold chain to match, which will go nicely with my sheer black and gold cape from Awear, which I bought online for €20 a few weeks ago.. I will team this up with denim shorts, sheer black tights and tan shoes ...So all I need now is to behave myself on Saturday to see Sunday through. But when your having fun, you don't worry about tomorrow....
