My favourite things...

It's the simple things in life that make me happy, yes alot of items here are posessions, buts it whats behind them mean alot more than the material things. Plus, anything here has been under €10 which I believe to be very prudent purchases and therefore justified!! (:-)  These were all recent purchases from the wonderful C2 by Cara, a gift shop that was opened in the last year by the company I work for Cara Pharmacy. It is filled with treasures upon treasures, well to me anyway! As they say what is one persons treasure is another persons junk!

I love (hah) my 'LOVE' sign with its little message 'Makes it all worthwhile' which is a little reminder everyday that we all need is a little love in our lives. I may not have the love of a "other half" at the minute but I have in abundance from family and friends..

My hanging heart frame is filled with some close friends and family and this is the first thing I see in the morning and always brings a smile as a reminder of happy times had by all ! I picked up the red canvas picture in Pennys some time ago for only €5 as I loved the message 'Do something you love everyday'! In the framed picture with messages of love and support are my sister and her husband. This is from their wedding day over 2 years ago where all the guests signed the frame wishing them happiness in their future life as man and wife. Such an amazing day which feels like yesterday, and to think they are about to start another chapter in their life. (but thats for another post!) Below this, is a little frame I picked up in C2, with a vintage style which sits nicely beside my canvas print. The frame is filled with a couple of photos from my recent holiday to Nice, where I happened to run into Jedward, and YES they are just like they appear on TV. Also in the pic is a group photo of my college friends from Forbidden Fruit from the Summer...

My beautiful heart pin board, with the floral heart shaped magnets..Again another beautiful vintage patterned piece with pretty ribbon to hang it! I wasn't sure what to put on this, more photos or something inspirational !! So I went with inspirational and decided to call it my inspiration board were I made the above image with one of my all time favourite quotes from the beautiful Audrey Hepburn !

"I believe in being strong when
everything seems to be going wrong,
I believe that happy girls
are the prettiest girls,
I believe that tomorrow is another day,
and I believe in Miracles
Audrey Hepburn

Beside that the infamous " Keep Calm' slogan, takes another direction! This little sign made me laugh. Myself and my friends have a private joke where no matter what happens we like to repeat our little mantra 'Let the good times roll'  So no matter what happens....

Love....Makes it all worthwhile!
Do something you love everyday!
Happiest girls are the prettiest girls
&
Let the good times roll!

Project D!

Project D, is a fashion line designed by Dannii Minogue and Tabitha Sommerset Webb. With Dannii's unique style and Tabitha's flair for design the collection entitled 'Project D' features flowing silk day looks, cocktail chic and red-carpet-ready dresses. I have been eagerly awaiting Dannii's new  line and it it certantly doesn't disappoint.

With beautiful tailored dresses aswell as floating maxis there is something for everyone. I am in love with the vintage inspired Black lace dress, and believe this is something that will stand the test of time. I have picked a few of my favourite pieces but its really worth having a look at her online collection at www.projectdlondon.com. This collection encapsulates a myriad of styles from bohemian style, to 70's inspired , to classic and to glitzy.....
On my 'WISH' list for a New Years Eve wedding of my close friend
Perfect day dress teamed with knee high boots in winter or a pair of court shoes in the Summer
Beautiful bird pattern, which has been spotted on Pippa Middleton

A beautiful colour which is in for Autumn Season 2012 in two varying lace styles

What a difference a week makes....

I'm back after what was one of the most relaxing weeks I have had in the last few years without a shadow of a doubt. I got everything and more out of my week in the South of France. Sunshine, relaxation, laughs, chats and the odd glass of vino, created a mix that will last in my memory for a long time.

I went with two school friends whom I had never been abroad with but certainly hope to again. I really enjoyed their company, their chats, listening to their views on life and hearing about their travels. As life is so busy you sometimes miss out on different events in peoples lives and what really is happening with them, so it was nice to have a catch up with the girls.

I feel like a detox is in order after sampling some of the finest food. We found the food to have quite an Italian influence due to the proximity of Nice. There was a great selection of Restaurants to choose from, towards the end of the week we actually found it too hard to choose.  Prices varied on most nights with the average price €15 for a main and €5.50 for a glass of White Wine.

One of my favourite parts of Nice was the Cours Saleya. By day it was a bustling marketplace with Fresh Fruit and vegetables, and beautiful flowers, and by night beautiful artworks and crafts surrounded by the bustling restuarnts and bars on either side.

Towards the end of the week, we visited a Beach outside of Nice which was couple of Train Stops on the SNCF from Nice and worth a visit. The beaches in Nice were quite Stoney so this beach was easier on the Feet. Leaving Ville de France we headed to Monaco the home city of the iconic Grace Kelly, Actress, Princess and Style Icon. We also visited the Casino Royal in Monte Carlo where seeing a Ferrari was the norm! Bit different to the roads around Ireland. All an experience though to see how the other half live!

Cannes for me was an enjoyable experience..Again it was experiencing how the other half live but for me to stand on the steps on the red carpet where hundreds of actors and actresses have stood for the Cannes Film Festival was something else. I took a moment to stand at the bottom of steps closing my eyes visualising the camera flashes, the buzz, the excitement, and would it be possible to be standing there for real some day!

All in all it was the holiday I was craving for mentally and physically, to clear the mind and refresh the soul. No matter where in the world life can be just the same and we should be happy with what we have or inspired to live the life we want.. I'm half way through my list of goals and looking forward to achieving them...
